Naito/Sullivan Photo Contest Rules

ff_insta_teePhoto Guidelines and Entry

The contest is open to residents of Naito and Sullivan only. Include your name, email, and a title for each photo submitted.

Please indicate the category you want the photo to be judged in:

Only at Reed
Around Portland
People
Life of the Mind
Escape

A photo may only be entered in one category. Each resident may submit up to two entries per category and enter as many categories as they wish.

Be honorable in selecting photos to submit. These photos will be displayed in a public space and thus should be appropriate for a general audience. We cannot consider submissions that depict violations of Reed policies.

Submissions are due at noon on Tuesday, 26 March (the Tuesday after Spring Break). Entering gives us permission to print the photos and to display them in Naito Lounge.

Digital submissions may be emailed to Jess Gibson gibsonj@reed.edu. [Note: if the file size is too large for email, you can use Reed’s file robot service and include a link to the file in the email to Jess.  See <http://www.reed.edu/cis/help/filerobot.html>.] Please use the subject line “Photo Contest.”

Hard copies may be submitted by placing the photograph in the manila envelope labeled “Photo Contest” outside the RD apartment. You can also drop off photos during Jess’s office hours (Tuesdays 10-12 and Thursdays 3-5).

Judging

Your very own Naito/Sullivan HAs will select four finalists in each category based on aesthetic merit and fit within the category.

The finalists will be printed and displayed in Naito for the week preceding the Mini-Foods and Mocktails Gala Reveal (Saturday, April 13th – stay tuned for details!).

At the Gala Reveal a panel of “celebrity judges” will select a Grand Prize Winner and Runner-Up for each category, plus one Judges’ Choice selection from all of the finalists. The Grand Prize Winner and Judges’ Choice photographers will receive spectaculicious prizes and will achieve eternal Naito/Sullivan fame. Winning photos will be reprinted on photo paper and displayed in Naito Lounge for years to come.
