There are 5 main types of roles that WordPress offers: subscriber, contributor, author, editor, and administrator. Subscribers can’t write or publish; contributors can write, but not publish, their own content; authors can write, publish, and edit their own content, but not others’ content; editors can write, publish, and edit anyone’s content; admins can do everything an editor can do, as well as have access to additional privileges.These roles are described in the WordPress documentation.
