Cornwall, Science, 4 Nov 2016, p. 533)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/science.sciencemag.org\/content\/early\/2016\/11\/02\/science.aag2345\" target=\"_blank\">Observed Arctic sea-ice loss directly follows anthropogenic CO2 emission<\/a> (D. Notz &amp; J. Stroeve, Science, 3 Nov 2016, p.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/03\/22\/climate\/arctic-winter-sea-ice-record-low-global-warming.html\" target=\"_blank\">Arctic\u2019s winter sea ice drops to its lowest recorded level<\/a> (H. Fountain, NY Times, 22 Mar 2017)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/07\/29\/magazine\/does-the-disappearance-of-sea-ice-matter.html\" target=\"_blank\">Does the disappearance of sea ice matter?<\/a> (J. Gertner, NY Times, 29 Jul 2016)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have time to read these articles, these quotes from the&nbsp;Cornwall article puts the American lifestyle in perspective,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The jet fuel you burned on that flight from New York City to London? Say goodbye to 1 square meter of Arctic sea ice. &#8230; The average annual carbon emissions from a U.S. family of four would claim nearly 200 square meters&nbsp;of sea ice.
