Joe Janiga<\/strong> Joe built and maintains the multimedia lab and image for the Performing Arts Resource Center in Reeds Performing Arts Building. The lab was specifically designed for the specialized technology needs of the Reed performing arts community. He also works with Reed faculty and students supporting the use the PARC’s hardware and software pertaining to music, dance and theatre including help with multimedia design for live productions. Joe received his BA at the University of Oregon in Fine Art with a minor in music. He has over 25 years’ experience as a professional musician, educator, and composer for music, commercials, film, theatre, and dance. He attended the Oscars in 2009 for a film he scored that was up for an Academy award and was nominated for an Emmy in 2009 for that same score. He founded a software company for mobile devices in 2010. Joe can still be seen (and heard) accompanying occasional dance classes at Reed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n email: joejaniga@reed.edu<\/a> Daniel Landau<\/strong> Daniel comprises the programming wing of ITS. He works on Moodle and our e-reserves system, as well as supporting a variety of infrastructural systems. Before coming to Reed he built web applications in a number of different industries including telecommunications, sports, soda pop, and breakfast cereal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n email: dlandau@reed.edu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Trina Marmarelli<\/strong> Trina works with faculty members across Reed, as well as staff from CIS and the Library, to integrate technology into teaching and learning; this includes collaborating with faculty members to design and support curricular technology projects, coordinating evaluations of emerging technologies, supporting faculty use of iPads, managing Moodle, and more. She is active in local and national educational technology organizations, including ELI, NWACC, and edu-place. Trina holds a B.A. in French and Linguistics from the University of Michigan, a Dipl\u00f4me d\u2019\u00e9tudes approfondies<\/i> in Francophone studies from the University of Provence, and a Ph.D. in French from Stanford University, where she taught French language, French literature, and general humanities courses for seven years as a graduate student and postdoctoral fellow. Her dog, Junior, provides on-demand moral support for students, faculty, and staff on the ETC second floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n email: marmaret@reed.edu<\/a> Beth Platte Beth supports technology use in foreign language and literature classes at Reed and manages the Language Lab<\/a>, where students can access a variety of computer assisted language learning technologies. She also helps to coordinate drop-in tutoring for foreign languages, which takes place in the Language Lab. Beth holds a B.A. in Classics from Kalamazoo College, an M.A. in Ancient Greek from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in Greek and Roman History from the University of Michigan. Before coming to Reed, Beth was a tenure-track assistant professor of Classics at Valparaiso University, where she taught Ancient Greek. She has also taught ancient and medieval history, culture, and writing courses at the University of Michigan, Kalamazoo College, and Portland State University. Beth has a special interest in the digital humanities and has been involved with a major digital humanities project for several years. She’s always happy to talk about technology and language learning or digital methods in the humanities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
