Henry–lovely choice of tombstone! It’s a little hard to tell at this resolution, but he is wearing a charro suit and holding a sombrero. Generally this is scene as a showing nationalist pride (more on this here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charro_outfit). Why do you think they placed this photo on the tombstone? The Hebrew at the top says “Zion.” also curious what you think that is about. Totally agree with you that this is a large monument which speaks to the family’s wealth, but also perhaps their sorrow? Don’t forget your label for the item.
