(updated 3/27 4pm)
Hours for Library Services
The library building is closed until further notice.
The library’s online resources are available, and library staff are working remotely.
All Reed faculty, students, and staff are welcome to take advantage of the library’s remote services.
The Summit lending service is suspended beginning Monday, 3/23 until further notice. This action was taken by the Orbis Cascade Alliance, the organization of libraries that operates Summit.
All library and Summit fines for overdue materials are waived until the end of spring semester. You are welcome to keep Summit materials that you are currently using.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
We are unable to process requests for physical materials (including print books) at this time. You can continue to submit interlibrary loan requests for articles, which will be delivered to you as a PDF.
To make a request, log on to your ILL account with your Reed credentials, select “Article” under “New Request,” and enter your request information. You can also follow ILL request links from many of the library’s databases. If you are using ILL for the first time, you will be prompted to fill out your contact information. If you have any questions about the ILL service, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
All library fines are waived from Saturday, March 14 through the end of spring semester. Replacement fees are still in effect. You might see a fine on your library account for overdue materials, but it will not be sent to the business office and you do not need to pay it.
Thesis Desk & Locker Contents
If you were unable to retrieve your items from a thesis desk or locker, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss options.
PARC, IMC, and Special Collections and Archives closed
The PARC (Performing Arts Resource Center), IMC (Instructional Media Center), and Special Collections and Archives are closed until further notice.
Course materials should now be available on your course Moodle or as an ebook if your faculty indicated that they were needed for the remainder of the spring semester. If you have questions or encounter problems, please contact us.
Note that all library fines, including for reserves items, are waived from Saturday, March 14 through the end of spring semester. Replacement fees are still in effect. You might see a fine on your library account, but it will not be sent to the business office and you do not need to pay it.
