{"id":3890,"date":"2021-01-05T09:48:24","date_gmt":"2021-01-05T17:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.reed.edu\/library-news\/?p=3890"},"modified":"2021-01-05T09:51:44","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T17:51:44","slug":"new-database-scopus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.reed.edu\/library-news\/new-database-scopus\/","title":{"rendered":"New Database: Scopus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are excited to announce that Reed Library has replaced Web of Science with <a href=\"http:\/\/proxy.library.reed.edu\/login?url=http:\/\/www.scopus.com\">Scopus<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of January 1, 2021, the Library\u2019s subscription to Web of Science has ended and Scopus is our new replacement for comprehensive literature searching across disciplines and citation tracing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is Scopus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Scopus is a database for abstracts and citations of journal articles, books, and more.<\/li><li>You can search Scopus by title, author, institution, funder, and more.<\/li><li>Like Web of Science, Scopus has a cited reference search.<\/li><li>Coverage includes the Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities.&nbsp;<\/li><li>There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.reed.edu\/databases\/scopus\">Scopus LibGuide<\/a> that details searching, alerts, and other features.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students, if you have been using Web of Science for an assignment or your thesis, contact your <a href=\"https:\/\/library.reed.edu\/about\/librarians.html\">subject librarian<\/a> if you need help transitioning to Scopus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty, if you, your class, or lab would like more training on Scopus please let your <a href=\"https:\/\/library.reed.edu\/about\/librarians.html\">subject librarian<\/a> know.
