Whenever possible, sessions are hybrid; this means you can attend in person or online over zoom (check out <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.reed.edu\/meditation\/practice-principles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Our Practice<\/strong><\/a> to learn more about <em>in-person<\/em> and <em>online<\/em> participation). If you have medical concerns, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reed.edu\/coronavirus\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>read the College&#8217;s FAQ COVID-19<\/strong><\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>January-April 2026 SCHEDULE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">In-person meditation took place in th<\/span>e <strong>Eliot chapel<\/strong> most Wednesdays from <strong>January 7<\/strong> through <strong>April 29, 2026<\/strong>. No sessions are currently planned for Summer 2026 (May-June-July-August?) If we resume weekly practice, then this information will be posted in <strong>Upcoming Dates<\/strong> below. Our <em>group<\/em> silent period, whether in-person or online, takes place from 12:10-12:40 pm Pacific time. However, our meditation spaces are reserved for us from 12-12:50 pm so you may use our reserved space as your<em> personal quiet spot <\/em>at any time during the noon hour on our scheduled days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000\">In-Person Location.<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Eliot chapel<\/strong> is located on the 2nd floor of <strong>Eliot hall<\/strong> directly above the Admissions office. For more information about how to find the chapel, read <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.reed.edu\/meditation\/practice-principles\/\"><strong>Our Practice<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Online Access.<\/strong><\/span> Can&#8217;t make it to the chapel? Prefer the comfort of your office, or dorm room, or the outdoors? Find a quiet location and connect with us online over Zoom. The meeting link for each meditation session is emailed each Monday to members of our <strong><a aria-label=\"mailing list (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/a\/groups.reed.edu\/forum\/#!forum\/meditation\/join\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mailing list<\/a><\/strong>. You are welcome to show up, either in-person or online, <em>anytime<\/em> during our silent session. And, as mentioned above, you can also use the chapel during the rest of the noon hour as a quiet spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>12:10 &#8211; 3 bells (silence begins; online participants: <strong>mute<\/strong> your microphone, <strong>video<\/strong> is optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12:20 &#8211; 1 bell (<strong>in-person only<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12:30 &#8211; 1 bell (<strong>in-person only<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12:40 &#8211; 3 bells (silence ends)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Upcoming Dates.<\/strong> As you look at the dates listed below, please keep in mind that they are tentative and subject to change for an assortment of reasons (Alan&#8217;s travel plans, conflicts with holidays or College events, inclement weather, etc.). It assumes that <em>all<\/em> group sessions will be hybrid, with in-person and online options, unless stated otherwise. However, sometimes weather, travel plans, or another college event, will dictate a last-minute change to the schedule or location.
