Job Opportunity with Prof. Zimman – Apply by October 1st

Lal Zimman, in the department of linguistics, is seeking a research assistant to help with transcribing conversations and sociolinguistic interviews as well as other basic sociolinguistic research tasks (e.g. organizing or coding data).
 
The ideal candidate will 1) have taken (or be currently enrolled in) courses in discourse or sociolinguistics, and 2) have some experience with or knowledge of transgender/gender non-conforming communities. However, neither of these is required, so applications are welcome from those who have only one, or potentially neither, of these qualifications.
 
The application deadline is OCTOBER 1st, and the successful candidate must be available to begin working immediately (i.e., on or around October 2nd). The commitment for this position is 6-10 hours of work per week through the last day of classes (12/12/13). Pay scale is $10.08-11.21, depending on amount of experience working for the college.
