The Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a tenure-stream position in Linguistics at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of phonology and/or phonetics. The position start date is July 1, 2016.
Qualified candidates must have earned a PhD in Linguistics by date of appointment, or shortly thereafter. Duties will include teaching in our Linguistics programs at all undergraduate levels, teaching at the graduate level, supervision of graduate students, maintaining an active research agenda, and participating in the academic life of the department.
The successful candidate must have a record of excellence in research and in teaching, and will be expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded program of research. Evidence of excellence in research will be demonstrated through publications in top ranked and field relevant academic journals, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, letters of reference, and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application.
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
