That means I get hungry pretty reliably at 11pm and also reliably remember Commons isn’t open and get upset. Anyway, I resisted calling this series “Stuff I Eat” but realistically that’s what’s up. All posts in this series will be snack ideas and recipes that can be made cheaply with things you’re likely to have around.

For our first post, Ramen! This is what the rest of the world believes college students live on so why not start with it. Here are 3 ways to make ramen noodles when you’re tired of ramen noodles.

1) Snack Mix

Crush up uncooked noodles into small pieces

Preheat oven to 400

Mix together 2 tbsp of curry power, a bit of cayenne and a pinch of salt (or just use whatever spices you have around)

Mix the ramen with whatever other crunchy salty stuff you have (peanuts, cashews, chips, corn flakes…) and coat the whole mixture with about 2 tbsp of vegetable oil.

Add the spices and mix thoroughly

Spread the mix out on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes

2) Ramen n’ Cheese

Cook noodles as directed (without the flavor packet)

Drain the noodles and dump in a bowl

While still hot, add about 1/4 cup of milk

Add in about 1/2 cup of of shredded cheese (or thin slices) and mix until it melts. You can pop it in the microwave for a bit if you need to.

3) Peanut Noodles

This is the easiest ever. Seriously just make ramen like normal but add about 2 tbsp of peanut butter when you add the flavor packet. Stir in some actual peanuts too if you have them. Soy sauce is good too.

If you’re like me, you’re both getting kind of tired of Commons by now and you have to eat like 5 (8) times a day.
