On November 21, President Kroger graciously received 13 kindred book-loving souls (the residents of Random House, Reed’s literature theme dorm) for dinner at his home in Eastmoreland. Tacos and pie were on the menu, which the group enjoyed in the living room, seated in a half-circle around the fire.
The evening was spent chatting and sharing poetry aloud; John also showed his guests some of his favorite books, plucked gently from the shelves housing the Krogers’ fathomless collection that make the house feel just as much like a library as a domicile, and gave them a tour of the artwork adorning the walls.
