This Canyon Day, nOg residents and other assorted Reed students got together to get their hands dirty and make seed bombs.
Seed bomb: a mixture of dirt, clay, and seed, melded together and allowed to dry before being slung at unsuspecting areas in need of greenery and blossoms.
The Canyon Crew generously provided us with seed harvested directly from the Canyon. After shelling the lupine and mixing it with pearly everlasting and other seed, we grabbed handfuls of clay and dirt and formed our seed bombs!
After we were done, we threw some off the bouncy bridge and into the Canyon. Don’t try this at home, kids! The Canyon is a protected area. Zac Perry gave us the go-ahead as the seed was originally from the Canyon.
The remaining seed bombs will be allowed to dry so that we may explosively deploy them in other urban areas. Field trip, anyone?
