DC chapter: offering housing for Reedies attending the Colbert/Stewart rally (guest column)

For those having in mind to come to the so-called “March of the Moderates” being organized by Jon Stewart in Washington, DC on October 30, aka the “Rally to Restore Sanity,” or to participate in Steven Colbert’s “March to Keep Fear Alive,” members of the alumni chapter in DC have offered to arrange housing for those coming from far enough away to want to stay in DC overnight. No promises on whether your housing will be on the fear or the sanity side.

We will also arrange for a place for Reedies to meet to walk to the rally site (perhaps with a Reed banner), and perhaps a post-rally dinner or pre-rally lunch. Attendees should come prepared to argue “fear” v. “sanity.” A suggested reading list?

For information, contact Paul Alan Levy ’73, plevy@citizen.org, 202/588-7725. DC area alumni willing to provide housing should contact Paul with your number of beds (or amount of floor space) and location.
