Expanded Interlibrary Loan request options

Need a book or article, but Reed doesn’t have it? We have you covered!

Starting August 4th, you’ll see expanded Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request options in the library catalog. Updated Summit and ILL request buttons will look and work the same, so you get to focus on finding the resources you want, instead of which library it comes from. Log in with your Reed Kerberos ID to see estimated delivery times and checkout periods for physical and digital requests.

Options to request physical materials and books chapters/articles from other libraries will be available in the library catalog on August 4th.

Know what you’re looking for, but can’t find it in the catalog? Fill out the updated Interlibrary Loan form with publication information to send a request. This looks and works similar to the ILLiad request forms, but requests are easier and faster for library staff to manage. We’re also excited about the new DOI autofill option!

You will be able to make Interlibrary Loan and Summit requests for all materials that you could before. And, it will continue to be a free service for current Reed students, faculty, and staff. The library covers fees and shipping costs. Just be sure to log in with your Reed Kerberos ID to access the request options.

We hope this makes requesting materials from other institutions easier for you!
