We are getting into the Valentine’s spirit this month at the library with a new display and event celebrating romance and love in all forms!

Next time you’re in the library, take a look and borrow a book from our “Romance is for Everyone” display located in the Reading Room on the first floor. The display uplifts BIPOC and LGBTQ voices in the romance genre, and supports the notion that everyone deserves romance in their lives AND in their TBR (to be read) list! Just binged the HBO Series Heated Rivalry? We have the complete series currently available to check out via the display!
In addition to all of our lovey-dovey reads, we also have a special program this month dedicated to all things Romance Novel-Smut in the Stacks! Please join us in North Reference on February 11th from 2-4pm while we nibble on Valentine’s Day themed deserts/mocktails and listen to our panel speakers discuss romance as a genre, sexual relationships in literature, and sexual health education. We even have Katherine Morgan, owner of Grand Gestures romance bookstore and folks from SHARE as our special panel guests! A special thanks to the Reed Heritage Committee for sponsoring Katherine as our guest speaker.
If romance isn’t your thing that is okay. There’s a book that is exactly what you need to unwind and read for fun waiting for you in our Bibliotherapy Collection in the Pollock Room! We have titles from all genres of fiction, board games, puzzles, and a quiet space to relax in all semester long.
