Several new trials

The library is currently conducting trials of a number of new resources.  Trials give us the opportunity to try a resource out before we commit the funds to subscribing to or purchasing it.  Feedback from you – the Reed community – helps us make these decisions.  Go ahead and give these resources a try (from on campus) and let us know what you think!

If you try one of these and really like it (or if you don’t like it!), let us know.  You can mention it to your library liaison, to a librarian at the reference desk, or send feedback to Rachel Bridgewater.

IMC Nov. feature – Spanish film

Spanish films – we’ve got a lot of them.  This list is a rather random sampling of some notable ones.  For a complete list by title, click here (includes videos with dubbed Spanish language tracks).  Or if you’d prefer to browse the collection in person, come on down to the IMC and ask the circulation desk worker to let you into the media vault.  Most Spanish films are located under call# PN1995.9.S.  If you don’t see your favorite Spanish movie on the list and want to correct this horrible injustice, send an email to Jim Holmes with the film title and a brief annotation.

Library flat cases and casework displays

An amazing number of books—and one sound recording—have been produced by Reed faculty members of the last six years:  40 faculty and nearly 50 of their books are now on display in the library.  A few are new editions of standard textbooks in the field, many are academic texts that demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of a field and insightful analyses of a specific topic, and a few are novels or poetry.
