Uploading media to Ensemble, our media server, and sharing the media is a two step process.
- Media is uploaded to Ensemble.
- Media is shared to the community with either a link to the media (stored in Ensemble) or an embedded media player.
To share your media with your students, you will need to request library space on Ensemble, our media server, then you can upload your content. We can assist you in working with Ensemble to upload and host your content. Note: We do not recommend uploading video files to Moodle.
Uploading media to Ensemble
Uploading to Ensemble is usually done in two ways:
- logging into ensemble and uploading the media (most people will use this route, but will need to have library space created in Ensemble, our media server).
- clicking on a dropbox link that will upload media to ensemble (less common, but helpful if students need to submit a audio/video for class).
After you upload the media, you will want to either link or embed the media elsewhere, such as Moodle or a course webpage.
Sharing media
After you upload the media, you will want to either link or embed the media elsewhere, such as Moodle or a course webpage. Read more about sharing your media.
If you are sharing movies from dvds or another media format (cd, VHS tape), please get in contact with Jim Holmes, Director of Access Services.
Embed media in Ensemble
Embedding media will insert a media player into an area of your choosing, such as Moodle, a course website, or WordPress page. This is usually the preferred route, as otherwise viewers may be in another browser window, or forget to click on the back link in their browser to return to the course page.
To embed media, follow one of these links:
