February we got to have a quick trip to western Sicily. We stayed in Erice, which is on a high peak, with narrow streets and is very misty in the morning:
On the city walls are inscribed some words in some ancient Elymian-Phoenician alphabet:
It has some beautiful castles, on the highest point of the city, where once was a famous temple of Aphrodite:
It is reputed to have had 60 churches:
