Nigel Nicholson: I am the Walter Mintz Professor of Classics at Reed College, where I have been teaching since 1995. From 1994-95 I taught at Wellesley College. I am the author of "Aristocracy and Athletics in Archaic and Classical Greece" (Cambridge, 2005) and various articles on Pindar, Greek lyric and athletics, and I was named Oregon Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the American Council for Education in 2005. My colleague Matt Panciera is an Associate Professor at Gustavus Adolphus, where he has been teaching with distinction since doing stints at UNC-Greensboro, College of Charleston and Hamilton College.
